Our Story
This is a true story about real life and vacation.

My friend Michele came down to Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida from Wisconsin to unwind on spring break.  Michele used to live in the area for many years.  She brought along her daughter, mother, sister, and two young nephews.

I met up with them one day to relax at the condominium pool.  We were talking about how long of a drive it was and when they got to the condo then everyone had to go to the local grocery store. She was telling me how crazy it was.

On my drive home that afternoon, my mind just started wandering about our conversation.  I started thinking about when I go on vacation with my family, my husband and two very young boys. Preparing, packing, getting to our destination, and having to go shopping after a long haul.  It is tiresome, as you all know.

Your first full day or two of vacation is shot, having to run back and forth from the store to the vacation home before you are just about settled. I am not even including the time that you spend shopping for the essentials before you leave.  That is just a driving vacation, I will not even go into air travel.  "That's not fun; that's not vacation," I thought to myself.

That night, I was talking to one of our mutual friends. I brought up the situation that Michele had, and we both agreed - we have done the exact same thing with every vacation we ever have taken.  The next day, I asked my husband, "What do we do every time we go on vacation?"  He looked at me matter-of-factly and stated, " Go shopping. Why?"  I said, "Exactly!"

A few days later, I met up again with Michele and her family.  I told her my concept about taking care of the grocery shopping for folks on vacation and having everything waiting for them when they arrive.

And that is how Your Vacation Grocer came to be.

Enjoy your vacation,
